The vital forces of the province of Tapoa, offered, on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Fada N’Gourma, 20 Aloba type motorcycles and specific equipment worth 23,000,000 CFA francs, to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of their locality, in the fight against the terrorist hydra.
In response to the call made by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré in the fight against terrorism and organized crime, the vital forces of the province of Tapoa offered the FDS and VDP of their locality, 20 Aloba type motorcycles and specific equipment worth 23,000,000 CFA francs.
Chaired by the governor of the Eastern region, Ram Joseph Kafando, the official handover was attended by the highest authorities of the FDS, the administration of this region and the populations.
The oldest citizen of the province of Tapoa, also a former Minister of Health, Dr Maximin Ouôba, represented by the Vice-President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly David Lompo, declared that
their contribution to the war effort demonstrates their solidarity and enthusiasm which animate their community in the face of the terrorist hydra.
Also, he added, the province of Tapoa, like the other provinces of the country, needs concerted efforts and innovative initiatives to face security challenges.
The dean also indicated that the call for voluntary contributions from the daughters and sons of Tapoa dates from October 2023.
“The amount collected in addition to the contribution of the Gulmu diaspora in the United States for the peace effort amounts to 23,825,687 CFA francs,” said Dr Maximin Ouôba.
The contribution made it possible to successively acquire and deliver material and logistical goods.
Thus, in January 2024, basic necessities worth more than 7 million CFA francs were delivered to the distressed populations of Tapoa. In February 2024, internally displaced students from Tapoa in Fada N’Gourma received support of 195,000 CFA francs.
In April 2024, the FDS and VDP received fuel support wor
th 2,486,400 CFA francs.
The governor of the Eastern region, as well as the commander of the 6th military region, Lieutenant-Colonel Éric Dabiré, welcomed the gesture of the nationals of the province of Tapoa.
Ram Joseph Kafando called on the daughters and sons of the Eastern region who have already done something to do more because it is at this price that we will win together this war which has been unjustly imposed on us.
