Yatenga: The RASD reaffirms its support for the AES authorities

The African Network for Solidarity and Development (RASD), in collaboration with the provincial coordination of the Yatenga citizen watch, reaffirmed its support for the authorities of the Alliance of Sahel States ( AES). It was during a press conference held on Sunday August 11, 2024 in Ouahigouya.

In front of the media, three main points were discussed: the reaffirmation of their unwavering support for the Transition authorities of the AES countries, the warning against any Western interference in the AES space, and finally, the invitation to populations of the towns and countryside of Burkina to mobilize through citizen monitoring to defend the interests of the AES member countries.

According to the vice-president of the RASD, Souleymane Sawadogo, ‘the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) is an organization recently created to strengthen cooperation between the countries of the Sahel in the face of security and economic challenges. The vision of the three heads of state of the AES gives us hope for a better fu
ture for the people. We reaffirm our full support for these three heads of state in their fight for total sovereignty. We warn against any interference, wherever it comes from, particularly that of Western countries in these three states. »

Furthermore, the speakers did not fail to strongly condemn Ukraine’s position, which they consider to be a form of interference in the internal affairs of Mali and all the member countries of the AES.

Regarding the security situation, the speakers assured that there have been many improvements in the Northern region. Several villages have been resettled and the populations of these villages are peacefully going about their business.

For the speakers, the AES represents a significant opportunity for member countries in the Sahel, as it allows them to work together to overcome the common challenges of security and economic development. It is also a way to build a safer and more prosperous future in the AES space, to the great happiness of the people.

‘We must all remain
united and mobilized around these Transitional authorities, especially through citizen monitoring, to defeat any attempt at destabilization,’ said Souleymane Sawadogo.
