A Ghanaian entrepreneur brings 13 million worth of food to Burkinabè refugees living in Ghana


The CEO of the companies Ghana Nuts Limited and International Oils and Fats Burkina based in Bobo-Dioulasso, Dr Obed Asante on Thursday handed over food worth approximately 13.671 million FCFA to Burkinabè refugees in northern Ghana.

It is the interim manager of the Consulate General of Burkina Faso in Kumasi in the Republic of Ghana, Tobignaré Jacques Gouba who from Dr Obed Asante the food products intended for Burkinabè refugees established in Ghana.

According to the donor’s representative, Kwadwo Obeng Abogye, this gesture reflects the attachment and solidarity of the company’s CEO towards Burkina Faso and the Burkinabè people who are going through a situation of security and humanitarian challenges.

Mr. Abogye also praised the integrity, self-sacrifice and hard work of the refugees before announcing that his principal will offer them a 1000 hectare field.

Also, continued Kwadwo Obeng Abogye, ‘He will support you with inputs and will buy all of your production of corn, soya, sesame, ginger, onions and
shea kernels for his factories’

For his part , the Acting Manager of the Consulate General of Burkina, Jacques Gouba thanked the boss of Ghana Nuts Limited, for his generosity and solidarity towards his country.

He indicated that the food will help relieve the beneficiaries immediately.

According to estimates, the savannah region and that of Eastern Bono in Ghana are home to 923 Burkinabè refugees due to terrorist attacks.
