Zaire: Border Police get equipment

Soyo – Ten boats and six trucks were handed over on Wednesday to the 2nd Unit of the Border Police in soyo municipality, northern Zaire province.

The equipment that were handed over by the general commander of the National Police, commissioner Ambrosio de Lemos, are mainly intended to enhance combative action against illegal immigration and trafficking of fuel across the border with the neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Addressing the handover ceremony witnessed by Zaire province governor, Jose Joanes Andre, commissioner Ambrosio de Lemos said he believes the boats and trucks will help substantially reduce illegal immigration, trafficking of fuels and other crimes on the maritime, fluvial and land borders.
