USA: Sanangol reaffirms support for social issues

Houston – Although the Company’s focus on activities related to the research, production and commercialization of oil and gas is significant, Sonangol remains very involved in supporting social issues for the good of the communities in Angola.

This was said to Angolan journalists on Thursday in Houston (Texas) by the chairperson of the Sonangol’s Board of Directors, Isabel dos Santos, when discussing the company’s participation in Ceraweek, one of the largest events in the oil and gas sector.

She said that Sonangol has a portfolio of investments in social projects ranging from schools, orphanages and clinics.

In this sense, he argued that the company is very committed, despite having fewer resources than in the past.

“We remain present and want to do more and better, also having partnerships, that is to look at civil associations, see how they work and support them in their activity, so that we can cover with this help more people”, she said.

CERAWeek is an annual energy conference organized by the information and insights Company IHS in Houston, Texas. The conference provides a platform for discussion on a range of energy-related topics.

The conference features prominent speakers from energy, policy, technology, and financial industries, and is chaired by Pulitzer Prize winner Daniel Yergin, who is also the Vice-Chairman of IHS and co-founder of Cambridge Energy Research Associates.
