Soccer/CHAN: Mauritius squad leave Luanda

Luanda – Mauritius national soccer team left Luanda Monday after the squad lost 2-3 to Angolan counterpart Sunday in second leg match qualifiers for the final of the 5th edition of the African Nations Championship.

Speaking to Angop at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, Mauritian coach, Joe Tsupuia, congratulated the Angolan team for the win and wished successes in the upcoming games.

Acknowledging the host’s performance, Joe Tsupia said that the Angolans deserve to be in the next phase for CHAN 2018 qualifiers.

The goals were scored by Job (2 minutes), Geraldo (44) and Va (70), whereas Perticot (11) and Edouard (45) scored for Mauritius.

In the last qualifiers, Angola will be playing Madagascar that defeated Mozambique in Maputo.
