Scangroup Owner Unveils Units to Boost Business (

SCANGROUP’S major shareholder WPP has launched media buying agencies in sub-sahara Africa to extrench its position regionally as an integrated communications service provider.
WPP which has a vast footprint globally has announced the launch of its media buying arm GroupM and its agencies MEC, MediaCom and Mindshare.
The move will help the group continue buying media for Scangroup clients in several African countries including Angola, Burundi, Congo Brazaville, DRC, Ethiopia, Gabon, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Scangroup’s chief operating officer, Nandu Buty will oversee operations of GroupM in the region, with the management team of each of the operating agencies.
“With the changing media landscape in Kenya and Africa at large, this is an important development for us as it means we can advance our media agencies aligned to their respective global networks and clients needs,” said Buty.
