Ruling party presidential candidate predicts improvements in Cabinda

Cabinda – The candidate of the ruling MPLA party for President of Republic JoAPound o Lourenco said Saturday that the completion of the infrastructure underway in the far-northern Cabinda province will significantly change the state of its capital city.

Addressing a pre-campaign rally meant to introduce himself to the local voters, the MPLA candidate considered important and structuring the infrastructure and will avoid the degradation of roads.

On the other hand, he said, the infrastructure will increase the capacity of housing as well as energy and water supply for the people of Cabinda.

The MPLA candidate also said that the Angolan Government is committed to several projects despite the steep fall in oil price.

Among the infrastructure JoAPound o Lourenco mentioned the rehabilitation of Cabinda Airport, integrated infrastructures, Deep Water Port, and the recovery of the roads connecting the four municipalities of that province.

The works in the deep water port, in progress, will enable

import and export of goods, under economic diversification policy.

The MPLA presidential candidate also said that Cabinda has the potential to produce much more than oil and timber, underlining that logistical platforms in the province, particularly those in the localities of Yema and Massabi, will ensure organised trade and benefit all countries involved with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Congo Brazzaville.

JoAPound o Lourenco also announced that the emergence of the other branches of the economy in support for oil sector and generate more job.

In his speech, JoAPound o Lourenco stressed the issue of incentives for domestic and foreign investors in order to produce goods and services that can be sold to the countries sharing border with Cabinda.
