PRETORIA– South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has highlighted the importance of different countries working together to advance technologies across the globe.
He was delivering the keynote address during a visit Tuesday by a high-level Chinese delegation to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research Centre in Pretoria where he officially opened the South Africa-China Scientists High Level dialogue.
The dialogue was jointly opened by Ramaphosa and visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In encouraging nations to share their expertise to advance human knowledge, Ramaphosa said: The development of skills and expertise underpins all preparation for the participation in the 4th industrial revolution.
“This is where international co-operation becomes very crucial and critical. The frontiers of human knowledge are expanded through joint investments, the pulling of resources and the sharing of experience and expertise.
“This is the way the world is going, where no one nation can hope to excel on its own but that nations do need to partner with others in order to achieve great success.”
