National Police want timely reporting on crime prevention

Luanda – Media outlets should play a pedagogical and instructive role in the prevention of crime and ensure preservation of public order.

The appeal was launched Friday in Luanda by the second Commander of National Police, Paulo Gaspar de Almeida.

The Chief Commissioner was speaking at the closing ceremony of a course on public security for journalists, stating that prevention and combat the crime is not always restricted to repressive actions.

“Timely, clear, careful and well transmitted communication can prevent and thwart the crime attempts,” he said.

Paulo Gaspar de Almeida considered the Media as a “strategic and lasting partner” of the National Police, specially with regard to the prevention of crime and preservation of public order.
