Multiple Initiatives in 18 Months Prove Tinubu’s Readiness for Office – TMSG.

Abuja: The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has announced that President Bola Tinubu has introduced 15 impactful initiatives within his first 18 months in office, demonstrating his readiness for the presidency.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Nwankpa, Chairman of TMSG, and Mr. Dapo Okubanjo, Secretary, released a statement highlighting that the administration’s actions in its initial months illustrate President Tinubu’s preparedness and strategic planning. They emphasized that these initiatives were not spontaneous but rather carefully outlined in the President’s 80-page campaign document, ‘Renewed Hope 2023-Action plan for a better Nigeria,’ which contains multi-sectoral policy options. This counters the narrative presented by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

TMSG detailed that the 15 initiatives prioritized by Tinubu’s administration address national security, economic growth, and education. Among these is a groundbreaking student loan scheme launched in July 2024 to enhance access to
higher education and alleviate financial burdens on students. Within three months of the Nigerian Education Loans Fund (NELFUND) portal opening, 351,317 students registered, with 258,943 applying for loans. A total of N84.2 billion has been disbursed, with N27.5 billion allocated to schools and N56.7 billion for student upkeep. NELFUND is also developing a job portal to connect loan recipients with employment opportunities, aiding loan repayment two years post-graduation.

Other initiatives include the N100 billion Consumer Credit Scheme managed by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CreditCorp), which disbursed N3.5 billion to 10,942 beneficiaries within five days of launch. The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative is another measure adopted as a cost-effective and cleaner alternative. The administration has also introduced micro and small business loan schemes to boost local businesses.

Further, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has launched the 3 million Technical Tal
ent (3MTT) initiative to nurture digital expertise among Nigerians. The government has committed $618 million to the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) project to bolster Nigeria’s creative industry. Additionally, skills will be integrated into basic education curricula from the next academic session to offer students skill-building opportunities alongside their education.

TMSG also highlighted the National Youth Academy (NIYA) initiative, aiming to empower and train seven million youths within two years and create five million jobs over the next four years. The N110 billion National Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) scheme offers financial and non-financial support, including mentorship and business development services. The NDDC Internship Scheme for Niger Delta youths is another empowerment program introduced by the Tinubu administration.

The group concluded by affirming that these initiatives are results of strategic planning, with visible implementation and beneficiaries nationwide.
