MP calls on opposition colleagues to have trust in Parliament

The ruling MPLA party parliamentary bench Monday in Luanda called on the colleagues from opposition to have more trust more in the National Assembly’s leadership regardng the allocation of funds still owed to the Parliament benches.

The call came from ruling MPLA party Parliament group member, Ruth Adriano Mendes, who mentioned the effort being made by the Parliament leadership to allocate the funds still owed to the groups.

The MP was speaking to the press at the end of a Conference of heads of Parliamentary groups that set the agenda for the next plenary session of the National Assembly of 23 February.

Ruth Adriano Mendes was reacting to statements made by the heads of the opposition CASA-CE and PRS parliamentary groups, Andre Mendes de Carvalho and Daniel Benedito, respectively, about the delay in the release of the funds owed to them.

The CASA-CE politician explained his concern about the delay in the alloation of the funds with the fact that this (2017) is an election year.

The head of the PRS bench said that the failure to allocate the fund by the National Assembly is an “irregularity”.
