Mozambique: Angolan aid reaches Idai’s victims

According to the commander of the Light Helicopters Squad of FANA, Dinis Salatiel, within a couple of days the Angolan humanitarian aid will also arrive in other remote zones currently impossible to access by road in the aftermath of the cyclone Idai, which devastated different regions of Mozambique.

Angola is taking part of the efforts undertaken by several countries to assist the victims of the cyclone Idai. It has over 100 people among military personnel and civilians deployed in the localities in need.

In the port city of Beira, the epicentre of the disaster, at least five tonnes of food, medicine, hospital material and others such as two helicopters, a heavy truck, four trucks and two ambulances are also part of the humanitarian aid, which has been provided to the Mozambican people.
