Lighting contributes to crime reduction in Bita Vacaria ward

Luanda – The installation of 19 power stations in the Bita Vacaria ward, in Luanda’s Kikuxi Urban District of Viana Municipality, will contribute to the reduction of crime that district.

This information was released last Tuesday by the municipal administrator of Viana, Jeremias Dumbo, when he was addressing the population on the occasion of the launching of the first stone of the project, under the responsibility of the National Electricity Company (ENDE EP), saying that darkness contributes to the action of criminals, reason why It is necessary to fight it and create better social conditions for the citizens.

“This project is the answer of the Angolan Government to the complaints of the citizens”, said Jeremias Dumbo.

“Although the current financial reality of the government does not allow all the problems to be solved at the same time, they will gradually be solved”, he assured.

On the other hand, he said that the installation of the 19 Power Transformation Stations will guarantee the distribution of electricity for over 12,000 families.

The official warned the population to help in the maintenance of the social equipment, helping to supervise them and in the combat to the actions of vandalism.

Jeremias Dumbo said that along with the energy problem, the Executive will continue to work to solve the problems of lack of drinkable water, public schools and a hospital in Bita Vacaria Ward.

He emphasised that the creation of districts results from the need to bring the administration’s services closer to the population, in order to cater for their concerns in time.
