Kz 599 billion set aside for State’s debt

This was said Wednesday in Luanda by the head of the Debt Management Unit of the Finance Ministry, Osvaldo JoAPound o.

Speaking on the State-run Radio Nacional de Angola broadcasting station’s “Mesa Redonda” programme, Osvaldo JoAPound o, said the Government debt settlement plan is meant to boost the companies’s performance.

“Conditions have been created and will continued to be improved along the year for the settlement of the outstanding debts to companies,” he said.

Late in 2016, the official added, the Finance Ministry had settled about 20 percent of the debt to some companies.

He stated that the Government was aware of the constraints caused by accumulated outstanding debt to the activity of the companies and decided thus to devise a settlement strategy.
