Japanese ambassador favours relations in economic domain

Luanda – The new Japanese ambassador to Angola, Hironori Sawada, last Thursday in Luanda said he favours the strengthening of bilateral relations in the economic domain.

The diplomat expressed such intention during an audience granted to him by the Angolan Vice President, Manuel Domingos Vicente, in which they discussed matters of bilateral interest.

He went on to explain that the occasion was also used to extend to the Vice President an invitation to visit Japan, aimed at the strengthening of bilateral relations.

Hironori Sawada highlighted the work being done in Angola by the Japanese authorities in the area of demining, which is a process that started ten years ago.

He assured that Japan will continue to invest in Angola in areas linked to the implementation or construction of infrastructures, as well as in agriculture, education and health.

The Japanese ambassador handed his credentials to the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, on March 17.
