Industrial development zones created

Lubango – Angolan government has approved programmes for creation of industrial hubs to boost and develop the sector through public-private partnerships in the country.

This was announced Tuesday in southern Huila Province by the incumbent minister, Bernarda Goncalves Martins.

The minister released the information at a meeting with the provincial governor of the southern Huila province, JoAPound o Marcelino Tyipinge, on a few hour visit to the region to assess the functioning of the sector.

The official mentioned the industrial zones of the provinces of Cabinda, Benguela and Huambo as having been created, stressing that the sector is now working with provincial governors on granting of areas for the implementation of those industrial hubs.

Benguela government granted 100 hectares in the locality of Canjala, she said.

According to the minister, it is up to the State to make available the support infrastructure in the industrial zones, including energy and water, to enable the private sector to boost the sector.

Tuesday morning Bernarda Goncalves Martins visited some local projects.
