Inadec invests in inspection to mark consumer day

Ondjiva – A number of visits to commercial stores and informal markets have been held since January 01 by the National Institute of Consumer Protection (Inadec) in the southern Cunene Province as part of the commemoration of March 15, The World Consumer Day.

Inadec provincial director, Bernardo Hilundilwa, said the preliminary results of the action of the institution indicate that the traders are complying with the obligation to provide a quality service to consumers.

The official said that there is an exception with some stores. Thus, it has to do with irregularities linked to the lack of the health and safety certificates.

In order to correct this problem, the managers of those stores must regularize this situation within the deadlines.

As for the prices of basic foodstuffs, he said that they continue to reduce and defended greater supervision to prevent price bubble.

Inadec programme of activities for the world consumer day runs until March 20, and reserves, among other attractions, lectures and radio debates on civil liability in the Angolan consumer protection law.
