Huila: Polish businessmen interested to invest in Matala

Matala – Polish businessmen will start growing cereals (maize and wheat) on a 1000 hectares land in June this year in the municipality of Matala, southern Huila province.

The information was released to the press on Saturday by the representative of the firm Drzew Owocowych Krzewow Roz, in charge of the project.

Kulifikowana Szkolka was speaking at the end of a visit to the site, accompanied by the province’s deputy governor for economic and productive affairs, Cunha Velho.

He explained the visit to the Matala Irrigated Perimeter was intended to learn of the conditions existing there and the quality of the soils for agriculture.

According to Kulifikowana Szkolka, the team found appropriate lands for investment and support from the local authorities.

He said his company will immediately start with soil tests and creation of production support infrastructure, while the Angolan and Polish governments make the necessary administrative arrangements for the project to take off in June.
