Huambo: Portuguese minister visits Lossambo satellite city

Huambo – Portuguese minister of Foreign Affairs Augusto Santos Silva Saturday visited the satellite city of Lossambo, 8 kilometers from the capital city of the central Huambo province.

Augusto Santos Silva was accompanied by his Angolan counterpart, Georges Rebelo Chikoti.

Portuguese Secretaries of State for Agriculture and Food, and Portuguese Communities, Luis Viera and Jose Luis Carneiro, respectively, also joined the delegation.

The diplomat was briefed on how the project was carried out, which allowed the construction of 2009 apartments, with half already occupied.

During his stay in Huambo, the Portuguese Minister also visited the National Department of the Institute of Veterinary Research, which was reopened in November 2015.

On that occasion, the head of Portuguese diplomacy offered, in the first phase, on behalf of his country Government, a kit of 100 books to the Provincial Library, through the CamAes Institute and Portuguese Language Cooperation.

The Portuguese official held a courtesy meeting with the local governor, JoAPound o Baptista Kussumua, and the Portuguese community residing on the central province.
