Huambo: Governor highlights efforts to preserve peace

Caala – The governor of the province of Huambo, JoAPound o Baptista Kussumua, stressed Tuesday in the municipality of Caala the importance of combining efforts for the preservation of peace in the country.

Speaking at the central event of Peace Day (April 4), marked today, JoAPound o Baptista Kussumua highlighted the region’s gains during the 15 years of peace, mainly in the sectors of economy, education, infrastructure and health.

These gains, he said, have improved the living standard of citizens.

In his speech at the ceremony, presided by the Minister of National Defense, JoAPound o Lourenco, representing the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, the governor expressed thanks to the central authorities for the investments in the region.

Likewise, he expressed satisfaction that the province was chosen for the central event of the celebrations that are of great importance for peace and national reconciliation in Angola.

He said that he deeply believes that peace and reconciliation are the greatest asset available for the present and future generations, with the full development of the country and of all Angolans.
