Head of State’s spearheading position in electoral registration highlighted

Luanda – The minister of Territory Administration, Bornito de Sousa, last Friday, in Luanda, highlighted the opportune support and guidance of the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, during the electoral registration process, which closed last Friday.

Bornito de Sousa said so in the ceremony that marked the closing of the voter registration process, which started on 25 August of the year 2016.

The Territory Administrator minister underlined that the Angolan President – who is the head of the government – is the guarantor of the country’s stability, democratic process, regular functioning of the institutions and periodical holding of elections.

Thus, he reminded that President Jose Eduardo dos Santos was the first citizen to go to an electoral registration brigade to acquire his voter card.

On the occasion, Bornito de Sousa expressed his recognition to all those that got involved in the electoral registration process, such as the political parties, churches, chieftains, the civil society, state organs and the media.
