Government open to dialogue with teachers’ trade union

Luanda – The Education minister Pinda SimAPound o Tuesday said that the Government remained open to dialogue with the teachers’ union and committed to improving the social and working conditions of the sector.

Pinda SimAPound o was speaking to the press at the end of a meeting of the Social Policy Commission of the Council of Ministers led by the Vice-President of the Republic, Manuel Vicente, during which, among others, information was presented on the Education and teaching.

He regretted that the union had decided on the interpolated five-day strike at a time when the demands put forward were being discussed and dealt with.

Pinda SimAPound o said that the halt of teacher activity had no impact in nine provinces, but that was significant in the provinces of Luanda and Bengo.

The governor said that the updating of categories will be based on the availability of vacancies, to gradually assist workers who have changed their training profile, stressing that the transition from the pro-regime to the effective regime is peaceful, waiting for the Ministry of Finance to introduce an application to improve the process of identifying and performing administrative work.
