Abuja: Mr. Dussah Bala, Founder of Habila Life and Mentorship Foundation (HLMF), has called on the Federal Government to monitor and regulate the establishment of orphanages in the country. He made this appeal during a visit to Jesus Kids with Special Needs (J.K.S) Orphanage in Kubwa, Abuja, as part of activities to celebrate his birthday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Bala emphasized the importance of government intervention in providing grants and enacting proper laws to regulate orphanage homes across the nation. He reiterated his foundation’s commitment to supporting the less privileged, including those who are incarcerated, sick, orphans, and widows.
Bala, who is an orphan himself, chose to celebrate his birthday at an orphanage to highlight his personal connection to and understanding of the challenges faced by orphans. He expressed gratitude to organizations like the Alice Wanny Development Foundation, Ajebota Foundation for Disadvantaged Children, Book Club with Love, and Lead Joe 1808 Foundation for their contributions to the event’s success.
The Country Director of Leadership Joe 1808 Foundation, Ike Chinedo, addressed the importance of parental care during pregnancy, warning against harmful substances that could lead to children with special needs. Chinedo emphasized the value of every child and advocated for love and planning before bringing children into the world.
Mrs. Nifemi Ajideye, Director of JKS Orphanage, expressed her gratitude for the support received and urged further assistance from the government and NGOs. Represented by Ms. Victoria Adams, the Administrator of JKS, she highlighted the orphanage’s ongoing need for financial and material support, including transportation for the children’s schooling.
