KHARTOUM– Sudanese President Omer al-Bashir on Tuesday received former South African president Jacob Zuma who commended the support he received from President Bashir while he was South Africa’s head of state.
Zuma said later that his meeting with President Bashir was to foster the bonds of friendship between them.
State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Abdallah Idris said Zuma briefed President al-Bashir on current developments in South Africa.
Zuma commended the historical stand by Sudan with liberation movements in Africa in general and South Africa in particular.
He said Zuma was in the country at the head of a high-level South African economic investment delegation and would be meeting a number of people connected to investment in the Sudan.
