Fisheries minister visits Lunda Sul

Saurimo – The Fisheries minister, Victoria de Barros, is paying since early Monday a 24-hour working visit to Saurimo city, eastern Lunda Sul provnce, aimed at assessing the degree of implementation of the ongoing fisheries projects in the region.

In this visit, the minister is being accompanied by a delegation comprised of the directos of National Fish Farming, Antonio da Silva, of Infrastructures, Filomena da Mata and Artisanal Fishing, Nkossi Luieye, who were welcomed at the local airport Deolinda Rodrigues by the provincial governor, CAndida Narciso, members of the provincial government and personnel of the provincial Fish Farming Directorate.

The minister held a meeting with local governor, with whom she discussed issues related to her ministry and informed him on the goal of her visit to Lunda Sul province.

During her stay in the province, the minister will visit the artisanal fishermen of Muangueji and Luachimo communities and hand over boats and kits for artisanal fishing.

The minister is due to visit the Mona Quimbundo commune on Tuesday, where the greatest fish farming is located in order to deliver ration to fish farmers.
