EMIS records 30 million ATM financial transactions per month

Luanda – Thirty million financial transactions per month through the ATM are recorded by the Interbank Services Company (EMIS), which manages the ATM equipment and services in Angola, as a result of the existence of about three thousand of such machines countrywide, ANGOP has learnt.

In fifteen years of existence in Angola, to be marked on April 21, EMIS has also recorded over one million general transactions through the ATM per day, reads a press note from the company which reached ANGOP last Wednesday.

The ATM services in Angola are currently available in over 75 per cent of the country’s municipalities, with the number of ATM card holders growing rapidly due to the convenience of such means.

Banking is an indispensable process in a modern economy, because through it money enters the normal financial circuit (…), reads the EMIS firm note.

Some of the services provided to citizens by public and private companies are now payable through the ATM, such as the electricity bill.
