Economy minister for introduction of international standards in business fabric

Luanda: The Economy minister, AbraAPound o Gourgel, defended the need for the introduction of international standards that meet the specificity of the national business fabric, due to the existence of a large number of small and medium sized-enterprises.

This defense was made during the closing ceremony of the first accounting and auditing forum, organized by theAngolan Accountants and Experts Association, held in Luanda under the motto “Accounting Standardization and International Standards in Angola”.

According to the official, companies should pay more attention to international standards to strengthen the business fabric in the country, as in many other nations.

The meeting, which lasted days, discussed topics related to the preparation of inventories, construction contracts, destabilization of simple income and taxes, certification of accounting firms, auditing, training, qualification of accountants and audit.

The members stated that it was imperative that an accounting standardization committee must be set up and put in place, as well as a revision of the General Accounting Plan (PGC), in order to better adapt it to international standards not only for private companies but also for the public sector.

The participants in the forum were representatives from the counterparts of Mozambique and Cape Verde, Portugal’s auditor and members of the Angolan Accountants and Experts Association.
