Dori: The national flag raised in unison by the constituted bodies


The commemorative activities of the second edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation were launched in the Sahel region on Thursday, October 3, 2024 through an official ceremony of raising the national flag in the governorate of Dori and the reading of the message of the Head of State.

This second edition is placed under the theme: ‘For a strong and sovereign Nation, let us not betray our homeland!’

In the Sahel region, the activity brought together the region’s constituted bodies in the governorate of Dori.

In addition to the raising of the national colours, it was marked by the reading of the message of the Head of State, delivered by the High Commissioner of the province of Séno, Mr. W. Emile Bamas.

Quoting the Head of State, Mr. Bamas recalled that October 2 is the anniversary of the Political Orientation Speech (DOP), a speech in which Captain Thomas Isidore Noël SANKARA presented to the masses his vision of a free and prosperous Nation. According to Mr. Bamas, th
is date evokes not only the commitment of the Father of the Revolution for the triumph of freedom, sovereignty and real independence of our dear homeland, but also his desire to make the Burkinabe a people proud of their history and culture.

Mr. Bamas also explained the distinctive features of the traitor, stressing the need to denounce and combat him.

He also spoke about the importance of preserving the environment.

He launched a solemn appeal to all customary and religious authorities to participate fully in these days through teachings and messages recalling, during the various worship services, the meaning and the need for each citizen to cultivate the authentic values ??of our homeland.

As part of the celebration of these days, a competition will take place on October 5, 2024 at the Dori Provincial High School, followed by a day of sanitation and conferences in schools.
