Diamond sector scoops over USD 72 million in January

Compared with the same period of 2016, there is a decrease in revenues, with volume standing at USD 28.7 million.

The average value paid for each carat of the Angolan diamond also decreased to USD113,43, against 116.95 in the same period.

On the other hand, 2.2 billion kwanzas was also collected from the Industrial Tax and payment of Royalties by the companies operating in the mining sector in the country.

In December 2016, the sales stood at 816. 9 carat of diamonds. As result the sector collected USD 82. 8 million, during a period the price was set at USD 101,46.

The National Diamond Firm (ENDIAMA) yielded 9. 21 carat diamond in 2016, exceeding the goal set by Ministry of Planning and Territory Development, of 9 million carats.
