Culture Minister reaffirms mobilization for Carnival

The official, who stopped over in Saurimo from Lunda Norte, added that conditions are being created in order to have a different party from the previous ones, without giving more details.

“The country is mobilized and prepared to have a decent, different, innovative, attractive and exciting carnival” she said, noting that there is work to allow the event to go smoothly.

The minister called for greater commitment to the carnival groups and ensured that her staff will provide the necessary support to the participants, as well as appealed not to view Carnival as a competition, but rather an opportunity for cultural affirmation and expression.

For the parade set for February 28, Lunda Sul has confirmed more than 30 carnival groups.

Carolina Cerqueira worked in the province of Lunda Norte, where she witnessed the reopening of the Dundo Museum and the opening ceremony of the 15th National University Students Camping (CANFEU).
