Ilorin: There was confusion in an Area Court in Ilorin when a woman, Mulikat Yusuf, slumped after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, insisted on divorcing her. Abdulganiyu stated to the court his lack of interest in continuing the marriage.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Yusuf expressed her reluctance to accept the divorce, highlighting her concern about the future after having six children. She questioned where she could go if the marriage ended.

Yusuf was overwhelmed as she exited the court, leading to her collapse. Court officials quickly attended to her, reviving her by splashing water on her.

The presiding judge, Mr. Toyin Aluko, advised Yusuf to consider all available options to resolve the issues with her husband. The case has been adjourned until December 10 for a report on a potential settlement or further hearing.
