Burkina: New officials from the Ministry of Security urged to mobilize collective intelligence to meet security challenges


Ouagadougou: The Minister of Security, Mahamoudou Sana, on Monday in Ouagadougou urged his new chief of staff (Dircab), Wendinmanegde Emmanuel Zongo and his new secretary general (SG), Commander Ahmed Ouédraogo, to fully commit to their new functions and mobilize the collective intelligence of their teams to meet the security challenges of Burkina Faso.

Mr. Sana spoke Monday in Ouagadougou on the occasion of the installation of the new chief of staff and the secretary general of his department, appointed by the Council of Ministers on August 14, 2024, thus testifying to the government’s desire to intensify the fight against current security challenges in Burkina.

In his speech, the Dircab, Emmanuel Zongo, welcomed the trust placed in him and underlined the importance of collective work to face the complexity of the security and humanitarian challenges weighing on Burkina Faso.

He reiterated his commitment to consolidating the achievements of his predecessors and injecting new dynamism into the ministry.


Building a solid team around the Minister of Security is an obvious necessity,’ he declared, inviting all employees to pool their efforts to achieve the set objectives.

As for Commander Ahmed Ouédraogo, newly appointed SG, he expressed his gratitude to the authorities for the trust placed in him, while paying tribute to the Defense and Security Forces as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) engaged on the ground.

‘The courage of the soldier depends on the prudence of the general,’ he recalled, highlighting the importance of cohesion and team spirit to succeed in assigned missions.

Commander Ouédraogo insisted on the need for ministry collaborators to work tirelessly to support the security forces on the ground.

He also expressed his wish to see the ministry’s offices become strategic centers of unfailing support for the efforts deployed on the front.

‘Let us work to minimize, or even eradicate, failures, by being all involved, united and with a spirit of cohesion,’ he said.

The
se new appointments mark a crucial step for the Ministry of Security in its quest for stability and peace for Burkina Faso.
