Botswana: Khama in Mozambique

President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama arrived in Maputo, Mozambique yesterday on a three day state visit.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between Botswana and Mozambique . President Khama was welcomed by Mozambique’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in the absence of President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.

During his stay in Mozambique, President Khama is expected to tour and lay a wreath at the Mozambican Heroes Monument and pay a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Mozambican National Assembly before proceeding to Tete province where he will visit the village of Song, before returning to Botswana on Wednesday.

President Khama is accompanied by the Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Mr Eric Molale, Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo as well as senior government officials.
