BNA weekly foreign exchange sale drops

Luanda – A total of Eur. 96.7 million (Usd 108 million) was sold by the Angola Reserve Bank (BNA) into the country?s financial market from 10-13 April this year, against Eur. 224.2 million of the 3-7 April period.

The information is contained on BNA’s weekly sale report released on Monday, stating that the above money was sold to cover various operations, with stress to the oil sector that took Eur. 53.7 million.

According to the source, in the period in respect, BNA released Eur. 14.5 million to cover travels, family aid and education, while 13.4 million went for credit cards.

5.3 million Euros have been sold to respond for the needs of various companies, whereas Eur. 3.7 million went to the construction sector, 3.1 million to cover salaries of expatriates, 3.0 million for transports and 134,300 for operations of ministries and State institutions.

The average exchange reference rates for sales on the primary foreign exchange market at weekend were Usd=AKZ 166,737 and Eur.=AKZ 186,291.
