Angola’s commitment to stabilizing Africa hailed – S. African General

Luanda – The head of the National Defense Forces of the Republic of South Africa, General Solly Shoke, highlighted the role played by Angola in the political and military stability of the African continent.

The general said so at the 3rd meeting of the Angola-South Africa Defense and Security Committee, which began this Monday in Luanda, due to finish on Wednesday.

According to Solly Shoke, Angola and South Africa enjoy close cooperation and play a key role in the SADC region.

In its own right, cooperation between countries should embrace the field of technology and knowledge exchange, with the main emphasis on medicine, thus helping to combat epidemiologies such as ebola and malaria.

“We as a military should begin to analyze these issues in order to find solutions”, said the general, encouraging scientists and professors, both in the civil and military branches, to conduct research on the subject.

The delegation of South African defense forces is in Angola to assess the 12th meeting of the Defense Committee, held last year in Rustenburg (South Africa).
