Angolan Speaker learns of preparations for SADC Forum session

Mahe Island- The Speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, learnt on Saturday in Mahe Island (Seychelles) of the preparations for the 41st plenary session of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (SDCA-PF), a body of which he has been president since November 2016.

The information was provided to the Angolan press by the head of the Angolan Group of Women Parliamentarians, CAndida Celeste, at the end of a meeting held with Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, who arrived in Seychelles Friday to preside over the event.

According to CAndida Celeste, the preparatory work of the forum, whose official opening is taking place this Monday in this locality, are going well and the financial situation of the organ is one of the aspects that Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos analyzed with the representatives of the national parliamentarians.

Under the motto “Exploiting the demographic dividend through youth investments”, the event will take place on 10-15 July at one of the hotels on the Bahe tourist island, 20 minutes from Victoria, the capital of the Republic of Seychelles.

SADC, an organization founded in 1992, groups Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Seychelles.
