Angolan helicopters support food transport in Mozambique

Speaking to the press, the head of the Angolan humanitarian aid mission to the victims of Cyclone Idai, Sabino Dunguionga, said that the decision to use these air resources resulted from a meeting between local authorities and international partners in Beira.

The two aircraft have the capacity to carry up to 2,650 kilograms of weight.

The Angolan mission also has two ambulances and four off-road vehicles to facilitate mobility.

Cyclone Idai, which reached the port city of Beira on the 14th March with winds of up to 170 km / h, has claimed over 400 lives and untold material losses.
