Angola/Equatorial Guinea: President Obiang Nguema ends visit

Luanda – The President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo ended Monday his few-hour working visit to Angola after discussing with his local counterpart, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, the strengthening of existing bilateral cooperation relations between the States.

During his stay in Luanda, Teodoro Obiang Nguema visited the memorial Antonio Agostinho Neto to pay tribute to the first Angolan president.

The visiting head of State was also received in private audience by President, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, while the two government delegations gathered to analyse bilateral cooperation.

At the Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, Obiang Nguema was seen off by Angolan Foreign Minister, Georges Chicoti, accompanied by the Luanda provincial governor, Higino Carneiro, ambassadors and senior staff of national diplomacy.

Angola/Equatorial Guinea bilateral relations of cooperation and friendship cover the sectors of politics and diplomacy, defense and security, oil and gas, transport, among other areas.

The two countries also members of the international organisations such as the Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC), the African Union (AU), the UN and other institutions.
