Angola: Territory Ministry opens period for electoral data complaints

Luanda – The Ministry of Territory Administration (MAT) opened Wednesday countrywide a period of complaints of citizens, bearer of voter card detected with errors in their electoral data, for the due corrections.

This was said to Angop on Friday by MAT national director for Technologies and Electoral Process Assistance, Antonio Lemos.

According to him, the complaint procedure is a process enforced by law and is due to end on April 19.

He also explained that the complaints must be addressed to municipal administrations, where after five days it will be responded or have its eventual errors corrected such as name, age, address and misspelled spot of reference.

In addition, the MAT official said in case complains are not resolved the citizens may appeal to the Ministry of Territory Administration or the incumbent minister to explain their complaints.

However, he explained the complaints include merely those citizens, who had updated their voter cards or had been registered for the first time during the period of August 25, 2016 and March 31 of 2017.
