The Action Plan foresees national projects to be implemented with IAEA support during the 2020-2021: Establishment of prgrammes of technologists in physical medicine and radiotherapy at the Angolan Cancer Control Institute
The project also includes National Radiation Safety Policy and Strategy, Waste Management, Radiation Safety Education and Training; and creation of national regulatory infrastructure for radiation protection and safety.
According to a note from the Angolan embassy in Austria and the Permanent Mission of Angola to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Vienna, the agreement was signed on 18 September 2019, on the sidelines of the 63rd Ordinary Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The meeting took place in Vienna, Austria, from 16 to 20 September this year.
The Angolan delegation to the 63rd Ordinary Session of the IAEA General Conference was led by Minister of Energy and Water, JoAPound o Baptista Borges, and included delegates from various ministerial bodies.
