Angola: Ruling MPLA reviews party’s issue

Luanda – The Politburo of the ruling MPLA Monday in Luanda analysed matters related to the internal life of the party, according to a note sent to Angop.

The MPLA governing body analysed the party’s issue during the first ordinary meeting, chaired by the president of Republic of Angola, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

As for the 2017 country’s elections, the Political Bureau analysed the proposed list of the candidates to the MPs of National Assembly.

The list will be submitted to the decision of the Central Committee of MPLA.

In the communique, MPLA described the party’s preparation for the great electoral challenge of 2017 as crucial.

The meeting analysed the draft action plan for the implementation of the Party’s Electoral Strategy.

The party also has first approached the regulations of the organisation and functioning of the national organs and bodies and intermediate of the MPLA, as well as the grassroots organisations and party specialty committees.

“The Political Bureau of the Central Committee agreed to the proposal on replacing the second secretary of Luanda Provincial Committee of the MPLA,” the statement read.

On the other hand, the Politburo expressed regret over the death on 29 January this year of the militant Serafim Cananito Alexandre, former member of central committee of MPLA.

Cananito Alexandre was also MP of National Assembly, first secretary of the provincial committee of the northern Uige province and ex-governor of the province.
