Angola needs efficient managers – Territory Minister

Luanda – Angola needs efficient managers and administrators, both in the private and public sectors to address the transition process from national reconstruction to modern development, said Friday in Luanda, the minister of Territory Administration, Bornito De Sousa.

Speaking at the public presentation of the Association of Managers and Administrators of Angola (AGAA), the minister said that in order to successfully reach this goal, they need to be well trained and aligned with modern management practices.

He reported that it is not enough to make or build schools, hospitals, ports, airports, institutional buildings, hydroelectric dams, production or water treatment plants, but it is also needed to ensure their maintenance, their correct daily functioning and economic and financial sustainability.

The official added that good management is even more necessary and required in Angola, given the situation of the world economic crisis which is also affecting the country.

Bornito de Sousa reiterated the need to train managers and administrators, both public and private, in order to keep them in line with the best and most advanced management standards, giving a segment to the current moment of global transition to the so-called “Fourth Industrial Revolution”.

Taking into account the situations in which day-to-day situations occur, the creation of this association can and should draw attention to the importance of proper management and administration, according to the official.

Created on September 14, 2016, AGAA has more than 3,000 members in the country’s capital (Luanda) and provincial centres in the other regions of Angola.
