Angola: National Police ready to secure elections

Luanda – The general commander of the National Police, Commissioner General, Ambrosio de Lemos, Wednesday ensured the corporation readiness in the preparations for the upcoming general elections scheduled for August of this year.

Speaking to the press at the end of a field visit in the Cazenga municipality in Luanda, the police boss said that the country is in a decisive year, with a view to holding the general elections.

“In this period the work of the police forces is redoubled, in order to assure the movement of the populations to exercise their right to vote”, he stressed.

Nevertheless, he continued, the corporation is prepared to secure the polling stations, its members and the material to be used in the ballot.

Ambrosio de Lemos reviewed the existing difficulties in the police stations in the municipality.
