Angola: Mozambican Writer Wins Sonangol Literature Prize

Luanda – Sonangol Literature Grand Prize in 2016 will be awarded on Wednesday 30 March to the Mozambican writer Suleimane Abdulmane “Peniwaku Sassa” in act to take place at the premises of the Angolan Writers Association (UEA) in Luanda.

In a press note that reached Angop on Saturday, UEA highlights that the winner participate in the contest with the book entitled “A carta da Mboa”, which will also be availed to the public on the same day.

In this edition, according to UEA, he was awarded an honourable mention to the Angolan writer Fragata de Morais, with work “A danca da Chuva”.

The prize counted on the participation of renowned writers from Angola, Cabo Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, Mozambique and Guine-Bissau, an initiative aimed to boost the literary culture in the referred African countries.
