Angola: Marcal Centre to supply 70.000 cubic meters of water

These data were given on Tuesday by the chairman of the Board of Directors of Luanda’s Public Water Supply Company (EPAL-EP), Leonidio Ceitas, who was speaking at the end of the inspection visit of the president of the China Development Bank, Zheng Zhijie, an institution that is financing the infrastructure.

The rehabilitation works to end in May of last year, partially allow it to function only with the hydraulic and structuring part, with malfunction verified by lapse in the Luanda Sudeste station, which resulted from the need to transfer the water from Marcal centre to Maianga station.

The official said that when Luanda sudeste, next June, is completed, EPAL-EP will supply water to the neighborhoods of Marcal, Vila Alice and the downtown of the city.

The President of the China Development Bank, Zheng Zhijic, was satisfied with the facelift works of the Marcal Water Distribution Centre, saying that it has requirements to improve the lives of the Angolan people.

The manager of the project’s financing institution, who assessed the degree of execution of the works, said that he paid great attention to Angolan cooperation and more than 200 projects in the country were financed by the Chinese Bank.

He said that the number of projects underway thus play a crucial role in Angola’s socio-economic development and in the China/Angola trade promotion.

The work was budgeted at about 68 million dollars, of which 10 were used in a contingency plan.
