Angola: JoAPound o Lourenco highlights importance of disease prevention

Luanda – The MPLA candidate for President of the Republic, JoAPound o Lourenco, on Saturday in Luanda highlighted the importance of disease prevention actions, aimed at environmental sanitation, developed by the authorities and population.

The politician, who said so at the end of a visit to the Municipal Hospital of Zango (Viana), sided by party members, understands that only with that, it will be possible to prevent many cases of more frequent diseases in the institution related to sanitation of the environment.

After visiting the various areas of the health unit and holding a meeting with the local medical staff, he told the press that, even with prevention, hospitals are important.

Still on Saturday morning, the MPLA candidate visited the Calumbo Water Treatment Station, which has been running since March 26, 2016.

Currently, the centre produces 20.000 cubic meters of water per day, equivalent to 20 million liters, directly serving nearly 300.000 citizens in the same period.

Inaugurated in March 2012, the Water Treatment Station supplies the regions of Calumbo and the urban district of Zango.
