Angola chairs Southern and Eastern African Libraries Association

Luanda – Angola took up the presidency of the Association of Parliamentary Libraries of the Southern and Eastern African Regions (APLESA) in Luanda this Friday for a year.

At the end of the 17th Conference held under the theme “Best Parliamentary Libraries, Best Parliaments and Best Societies”, the Angolan Geraldo Cambiete took up the presidency, while the Vice-presidency was taken on by the Zambian, Xama Fula.

Uganda will coordinate the secretariat-general and the other members are Mozambique and a Zimbabwe.

The conference recommended partnerships with the world’s best libraries to better serve parliamentarians in the continent’s southern and eastern regions.
