Angola at SADC extraordinary summit of Heads of State and Government

Luanda – Defense Minister Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco will travel to Mbambane (Kingdom of Swaziland) on Friday to attend the SADC extraordinary summit of Heads of State and Government, in representation of the Angolan President, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

The information is contained in a press release sent to Angop on Wednesday in Luanda by the Press Office of the Angolan Embassy in Mozambique.

According to the document, the Defense Minister heads the Angolan multi-sectoral delegation that will participate in the SADC Council of Ministers on March 18, which precedes the Summit of Heads of State and Government.

The note also reads that the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto, who is also part of the Angolan multi-sectoral delegation, is already in Mbabane to attend the Council of Ministers session.

The event in Mbambane will take place at Lozitha palace on 10-20 March and will focus the re-structuring the SADC institutions.

The Angolan delegation comprises the Angolan ambassador Brito Sozinho, who is responsible for the Kingdom of Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi and Madagascar.

The delegation also includes the Secretaries of State of the Ministries of Finance, Industry, Trade, Planning and Territorial Development and SADC national secretary.
