Angola: ANGOP discusses cooperation with Russia

Luanda – The re-launch of cooperation between Angop and the Russian media bodies was topped last Friday a working meeting between officials of the Angolan news agency and diplomats of the Russian Federation.

At the meeting, the first secretary and head of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Angola, Alexey Shibaev, accompanied by the press attache, Taras Kostyuk, pledged to be the bridge between the parties.

Specifically, ANGOP will be able to gather the Russian experience of producing content in text, photography, video, audio and computer graphics, the five vehicles that support the ANGOP website.

During the period of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) until 1991, ANGOP had a privileged relationship with the TASS and Novosti agencies.

At the meeting, Russian diplomatic representatives also reported on the dispute between the Russian Federation and Ukraine over the Crimean peninsula.

In a referendum organized in 2014, the Crimea decided to reintegrate into the Russian Federation, a situation contested by Ukraine, with the support of the West.
